Bylaws
Bylaws, Terms of Use and Procedures – the STUD-NET Community
Welcome to the STUD-NET community – the home of students at the Open University. Use of the community, across all of its channels (WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, and the like), is subject to the terms set out below. The very act of membership and activity in the community constitutes full and unreserved consent to these terms, in accordance with contract law.
The Hebrew version of the bylaws is the legally binding version. This translation is provided for the reader's convenience only; in the event of any discrepancy, the Hebrew text shall prevail.
A. Voluntary Nature, Limitation of Liability, and Waiver of Legal Liability
Voluntary Nature and Waiver of Claims
Membership in the community is entirely voluntary and is a matter of the user's free choice. The user declares that they are aware that the community is managed on a volunteer basis, and accordingly they hereby finally, fully, and irrevocably waive any allegation, demand, or right of action against the community's administrators or anyone acting on their behalf.
Disclaimer of Liability (As-Is)
The community is not an official body of the Open University. The community's administrators bear no liability for content published by users, including consumer deception (as defined in the Consumer Protection Law, 5741-1981) or any damage caused by use of the information. Liability rests solely with the publisher.
Indemnification
The user undertakes to indemnify the community's administrators for any damage or expense incurred by them as a result of a claim by a third party arising from the user's activity in the community.
B. Advertising, Spam, and Business Collaborations
Prohibition of Advertising and Spam
Commercial or marketing advertising, or the distribution of "junk mail" on one's own initiative, is strictly prohibited. Sending marketing messages to community members (privately or in a group) without the approval of the community's administrators exposes the violator to a claim for compensation without proof of damage (in accordance with Section 30A of the Communications Law (Telecommunications and Broadcasting), 5742-1982).
Collaborations and Business Inquiries
The community's management reserves the exclusive right to approve business collaborations. To make contact regarding business collaborations, sponsorship offers, or official inquiries, one must reach out solely through the official LinkedIn page. Business inquiries made through other channels will not be answered.
Promotional Content — Subject to Prior Approval & Commission Disclosure
Commercial advertising or promotion within the community and on the site is permitted only with the prior written approval of the community's management. Approved promotional content — including official partnerships and affiliate benefits — will be clearly marked as promotional/marketing content with fair disclosure. Disclosure: the community generally receives affiliate commissions from various partners for referrals through the links on the site and in the community. This compensation comes at no extra cost to you and helps us cover costs and keep the community and its services running free of charge. This is not a recommendation, advice, or solicitation, and the decision is the user's sole responsibility. Promotion not approved in advance is prohibited.
Consent to receive updates, job offers and marketing content from Stud-Net
As part of community membership, the member consents to receive updates, job offers and marketing content from Stud-Net through the community channels and the contact details they provided (such as WhatsApp, Telegram or email). This consent is given voluntarily and can be withdrawn at any time, free of charge, by sending an unsubscribe message on the relevant channel or contacting us, and it does not affect essential service messages.
C. Conduct, Law and Order
Examination Integrity and the Law
The commission of disciplinary offenses (including Section 3 of the Open University's Disciplinary Bylaws: copying, fraud in assignments) and violations of the laws of the State are strictly prohibited.
Discussion Culture and Defamation
The community promotes respectful discourse. Offensive, racist, or hate-speech-spreading discourse is prohibited. Publishing content that harms a person's good name constitutes grounds for a civil and criminal claim (under the Prohibition of Defamation Law, 5725-1965).
D. Enforcement, Administrative Powers, and Legal Measures
Administrative Authority
The administrators have sole discretion to remove content and block users. Administrators must not be contacted privately (DM) without prior consent; repeated and recurring harassment may be deemed a criminal offense (under the Prevention of Menacing Harassment Law, 5762-2001).
Taking Legal Action
The community's management reserves the right to take any legal measures, including claims for statutory damages without proof of damage, against users who violate the bylaws, harm the community's activity, use bots or automated scanning tools (in violation of the Computers Law, 5755-1995), or harass its members.
Intellectual Property
The user declares that they hold the rights to the content they upload. Copying or distributing content from the community, of whatever kind, is strictly prohibited (in accordance with the Copyright Law, 5768-2007).
Clarification
Failure to read the bylaws does not exempt one from liability. Continued membership in the community is tantamount to signing this binding contract.
The Only Official Document
The only official, binding and up-to-date bylaws of STUD-NET are those published on the official website, stud-net.com, alone. Any copy, version, or "bylaws" of STUD-NET appearing on any other website, page or platform is unofficial, may be forged or outdated; we are not responsible for it and have no ability to control content published outside the official site. In any conflict between another text and the version on the official site, the version on the official site prevails. When in doubt, rely solely on the version at stud-net.com.
Liability and Copyright
The community's management bears no liability for the content of conversations in the groups. Any infringement, copying, or violation of copyright is strictly prohibited. Ignorance of the procedures does not exempt one from liability.
Impersonation Warning
Contacts from the community team via private message will be made solely through the WhatsApp platform. No team member will ask you for personal details such as an identity card number or home address (except for a request to present a certificate of enrollment to prove student status).
Reporting
In the event of identifying an impersonator or an unusual demand for personal details, you should immediately block the sender and report to us through the channels indicated above or at the number 053-5349457.
We wish all of us a successful course of study and an enjoyable degree,
The STUD-NET Community Management Team
