Every fresh graduate knows the paradox: to land a first job you need experience, and to get experience someone has to take a chance on you. In Israel's 2026 tech market that paradox is especially sharp - which is exactly why a program that hires people at the very start is worth far more than an ordinary job.
Wix's KickstartX is one of those. It isn't looking for ready-made experts but for people hungry to learn, and being accepted means becoming a fully-paid Wix employee from day one - not an internship, not an unpaid grace period. Let's unpack why it matters: the profession, the company, the stock, and what it's like inside.
The profession: why a "foot in the door" is worth gold
A junior developer in Israel (0-2 years) earns roughly ILS 20,000-27,000 gross per month, depending on specialty and company. For comparison, the average wage in the information and communications sector was about ILS 34,657 per month (Israel CBS, February 2026) - a starting point well above most industries.
But here's what most people miss: junior roles are the scarce ones. By one market index there are about six senior openings for every junior one - juniors are under 8% of open positions. Companies chase experience, so the narrowest door is the entrance itself. A program that opens specifically for juniors is a rare, valuable opportunity.
Wix by the numbers
From 2006 to NASDAQ
Wix was founded in 2006 by Avishai Abrahami, Nadav Abrahami and Giora Kaplan, from a simple idea: let anyone build a website without writing a line of code. What began as a drag-and-drop tool grew into a full digital-presence platform.
In November 2013 the company went public on NASDAQ at $16.50 a share, at a valuation near $800M. Since then it has grown into a platform serving over 299M registered users and employing more than 5,300 people, most at its Tel Aviv development center.
In Israel and abroad
Wix's headquarters and main R&D centers are in Israel - in Tel Aviv, alongside centers in Be'er Sheva and Haifa. It's an Israeli company through and through, with most of its engineering based here.
But its reach is global: Wix runs around 20 offices worldwide - from New York, Miami and San Francisco, through London, Dublin, Berlin and Vilnius, to Tokyo, Singapore, New Delhi and São Paulo. Its users span nearly every country. In other words, a junior who joins in Tel Aviv writes code that reaches audiences on every continent.
The stock: WIX on the market
The shares trade on NASDAQ under the ticker WIX. As of late September 2026 the stock traded around $73.8, reflecting a market cap near $3.1B. The past year was volatile - a 52-week range roughly between $40 and $181 - a good reminder that tech stocks are never a straight line.
What did climb steadily is revenue: from $604M in 2018 to $1.99B in 2025, growing year after year. The chart below shows the trend.
Steady revenue growth
What it's like inside

The experience is built around two anchors, both from the official description rather than our guess: fully on-site work, five days a week at the Glilot campus, and rotations across several engineering teams with close mentorship from senior engineers. Instead of a side project, you move between real teams and write code that ships.
In practice that's a steep but supported learning curve: someone reviews your code, guides you, and brings you into the working methods of a large-scale company. For a junior, half a year like this can be worth one to two years of scattered experience.
Being accepted means becoming a fully-paid Wix employee from day one - not an unpaid internship.
How the program works
The track runs seven months in two phases. The first two months are intensive training: software-engineering foundations, AI-assisted development, and the Wix stack - React, Node.js and Java.
Then comes the hands-on part - rotations across engineering teams with senior mentorship. The emphasis is real work: code that ships to a product serving hundreds of millions of users.
Who it's for
Developers with 0-3 years of experience in frontend, full-stack or backend, familiar with web architecture and proficient in at least one programming language. A requirement that's no longer a "nice to have": demonstrated use of AI tools (Claude, Cursor, Copilot, etc.). Strong English and availability for full-time on-site work in Tel Aviv are also required.
Status and how to apply
To be precise: the KickstartX '26 cohort has closed its application window (which opened for just 48 hours on March 25-26, 2026), and the program began on June 14, 2026. So this specific cohort can't be applied to right now. The right move: follow Wix's Early Talent hub for the next cohort, and meanwhile check other tracks that are currently open.
A note on sources
The details here were verified against public sources at publication: Wix's official pages (KickstartX and Early Talent), revenue and stock data from stockanalysis.com, and salary and sector figures from market indices and Israel's CBS. Stock prices, salaries and status change - verify against the source before making decisions.
