Israel Natural Gas Lines (Natgas), the government company that operates Israel's natural gas transmission system, has posted a job for an accounting student in its finance division. It is a part-time role of up to 120 hours a month, two to three days a week, at the company's offices in Ramat HaHayal, Tel Aviv.
What makes it stand out: the company reports to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange through its bonds, so the student gets real exposure to quarterly and annual statements, periodic controls and reporting, not just data entry.
The profession: accounting and financial reporting in Israel
Accounting is one of the classic entry routes into Israeli finance: a bachelor's degree in accounting, an internship, then a path to CPA, accountant or financial controller. Working as a student in the finance division of a reporting company shortens the curve, because it shows what a quarter close looks like, how coordination with external auditors works, and how to deal with government bodies.
Worth knowing: the listing does not state pay, so ask about it in the first conversation.
The company in numbers
Company history
Natgas was incorporated in 2003 as a government company under a government decision, to plan, procure, build, operate and maintain the natural gas transmission system from the receiving stations to consumers and distributors. Its transmission licence was granted in August 2004 and extended in November 2025 until July 2049.
The company has been expanding: in September 2025 it received a 25-year distribution licence for the Jerusalem area, and since December 2023 it has also been permitted to transport hydrogen and carbon dioxide.
In Israel and abroad
The transmission system is national infrastructure: natural gas supplies a large share of Israel's electricity generation, so the company's finances depend on regulation, tariffs and consumption volumes. Permission to carry hydrogen and CO2 fits a global trend toward clean-energy infrastructure.
The stock and the bonds
Natgas has no traded stock: all shares are held by the State, and a 2014 government decision speaks of a 25% to 49% minority offering, but as of the latest report no privatization decision has been made. The company reports to the exchange because of its bonds (Series A, C and D), whose total balance was about NIS 2.8 billion in September 2025.
The 2025 numbers
Revenue from customers in 2025 was NIS 1,130.7 million versus NIS 1,218.7 million in 2024. Operating profit fell to NIS 440.8 million from NIS 586.7 million. Net profit in 2024 was NIS 322.4 million, and in the first nine months of 2025 it was NIS 136.0 million versus NIS 227.3 million a year earlier. In November 2025 a NIS 120 million dividend was declared, subject to Government Companies Authority approval.
